Guardian Home Program

Rocky Mountain Canines is always on the lookout for loving guardians for our precious English Creams! Since we don't kennel our dogs or rehome our retired moms and dads we have decided to utilize qualified guardian homes. A guardian home is a permanent home for one of our breeding males or females.

Guardian homes have the opportunity to enjoy one of our quality puppies or young adults as a family pet while they remain in our program. Rocky Mountain Canines will retain all rights to the dog. We reserve the right to cancel our guardianship program at any time if we deem it necessary. When they retire they will be neutered or spayed at our expense and will get to retire with their family.

Guardians are required to pay $500 for your puppy which will be used to spay or neuter when they retire from our program. You will also be required to pay for the everyday expenses of owning a dog including annual wellness exams, vaccines, food, etc. We will be responsible for all breeding-related expenses.

Benefits of being a guardian:

Having a quality well-bred AKC english cream golden retriever for a fraction of the cost.
We will happily be your go-to dog sitter when you go on vacation! This must be scheduled in advance and is limited to our schedule.
All of the dog's health testing will be paid for by us!
If you are a guardian home for a female you are welcome to schedule a visit while she is with us to play with the puppies!

Requirements for being a guardian home include:

Live within a reasonable distance of Woods Cross, Utah or be willing to travel to meet during the dog's breeding season.
Be willing to teach basic commands and socialize the dog.
He/she must be an inside dog and can not be left unattended outside.
Must feed premium quality food as recommended by us.
All other dogs in the house must be fixed if they are of the opposite sex.
Willing to let the breeder visit your home.
Have open and honest communication with us about anything pertaining to the dog.
Provide veterinary care when needed.
If you are a guardian of a female dog you must be willing to drop her off for 1-2 weeks during her cycle to be bred. Then drop her off 1 week prior to her whelping date. She will stay with us until the puppies are weaned.
If you are a guardian of a male dog you must be willing to drop him off for 5-7 days for breeding (unless other arrangements are made for us to pick him up).
